A missing person report was filed with the Weslaco Police Department at 7:18 PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Upon further investigation, the identity of the missing person was revealed to be Jesus Angel Romo, 30. Sometime later that day, deputies were called to the canal area south of Hutto Road and Sioux Road in Donna, Texas, in connection with an abandoned car.
Weslaco police were alerted to Jesus Angel Romo’s automobile on January 18, 2023, and they promptly sent officers to the area. Approximately 6:17 p.m., the Weslaco Police Department, with the help of the Donna Fire Department and the Weslaco Fire Department, discovered a body north of Mile 9 on Goolie Road, outside of Donna, Texas.
Jesus Angel Romo, 30, has been named as the deceased person. Since there were no indications of trauma or foul play, the death was ruled to have been the result of an accidental drowning. The results of the toxicology study have not yet been released.
